Welcome to Daughter of the King!
I’m so glad you're here! My name is Britney and have a passion for handmade-homemade products like skin care, soaps & lotions, T-shirts, handmade crocheted items & more! I simply love crafting and creating beautiful, healthy things for my family to enjoy and take pride in learning new skills whenever possible.
I suppose you could say it started about 10 years ago when I started looking for alternative skin care options for my son who was struggling with severe eczema. It was so hard to see my little one suffer with excessive itching, burning, and rashes welting behind his knees and in the creases of his elbows. So I began this journey by making soap bars, homemade laundry detergents, deodorant, & toothpastes. I also adjusted his diet a bit, but be on the lookout for more on that story - coming soon!
As for crocheting and sewing, I had the honor of learning those skills from my grandmothers as a little girl. I’ve crocheted countless blankets, baby clothing, bags and more. I’ve also quilted many blankets when my son was just a toddler. It wasn’t always easy starting out & he definitely wore his fair share of lopsided PJ pants, but I learned. In ever stitch, every do-over, I learned something new.
It amazes me to look back on those precious memories only to realize what was truly being sown. Memories with my grandmothers, sisters and mom in which the gospel was being shared. Seeds were sown in my heart with every story and song shared about Jesus while crafting and creating whatever project we had conjured up.
Sadly, however, like so many, I became a wayward teen and young woman. It took me ten long years to come back to Christ, but my oh my, am I thankful for His love, forgiveness and redemption. But, at last! Here I am, renewed and sealed by the Spirit! I’m also a mother of four now. My children are currently 22, 16, 13, and 10. My husband is a registered nurse by trade and a Christian singer/song writer the rest of the time! Did you know the Bible has a lot to say about how we are to treat our bodies. 1 Corinthians 16: 19-20 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…? Therefore honor God with your bodies”.
I know more than anyone that our schedules get packed! Whether you are a full time homemaker or office executive, cooking homemade meals, drinking enough water and fitting in your daily cardio can seem overwhelming. Sadly, trusting the products we put on our skin or in our bellies seems to have become more difficult too.
That’s one of the many reasons why I decided to start Daughter of the King. And, it’s definitely why I aim to always use the highest quality, locally sourced and organically grown ingredients in the food and products I make & serve.
Our T-shirts and other apparel are also designed to align with God’s word. The phrases on each aren’t just cute words, but serve as a genuine reminder of the God we serve and that we are truly his children. And, what an awesome, fun way to share The Gospel with others!
I am also very blessed to have partnered with a few local artisan’s from Indiana! Their handcrafted, one of a kind art pieces glorify the Lord in such powerful ways! So, be sure to check them out while visiting the store!
My hope is that Daughter of the King is a fun, refreshing place to shop, a place of fellowship & friends, and a place where support and prayer can be found for all! Our family is beyond blessed by this opportunity the Lord has opened for us and we can wait to see what else He has in store!

Essential oils are thought to have many health benefits of which we use only the finest, organic grade possible. The addition of essential oils to our soaps adds a beautiful aroma!

Using spices such as clove, cinnamon, & turmeric in our soap recipes are not only a healthy, but fun way to add color and texture to our soaps! Many spices have been proven to have astounding health benefits.
Oils & Butters
The combination of oils and butters make a big difference in the quality and nourishing factors of soap. Therefor, each soap recipe has been created with different skin types and needs alike!
Yarn
We choose 100% recycled yarn to create our handmade, one of a kind tote bags, stuffed animals, washcloths, and more!
T-Shirts
All t-shirts made by DOK are 100% cotton & machine washable. For the longest lasting shirt, they should be turned inside out and washed with cool water.
Bracelets & More
We love making handmade bracelets and choose select beads for the most unique pieces! No mater what we make, we pray in honors God and blesses our customers!
